RouCa Grid Depiction of Behaviour Typical to Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

Overriding Characteristic – Oversized Emotional reaction.

Prominent Grid Areas – 3-A (Cognitive-Emotional)

Wiper – Semantic, Narrow, Opaque

Typical response  to the Environment of an Individual with BPD

Overriding Emotional responses tend to originate from low resolution Renders of the Environment. Superficial Rendering of the Environment makes it difficult for the Individual to Align themselves and often results in reduced success in Enacting behaviour.

As common to Cluster B Personality Disorders this is exacerbated by a Narrow, Opaque wiper denoting the inability to sustain Co-operation.

Behaviour typically consists of the Individual – lacking success with Aligning – seeking to Orientate the Environment to themselves.

The manifestation of idealization typically instigates a cycle of behaviour as status is assigned to a third party in the Construct (i). Validating this construct allows the Individual to escape from the Grid through the Joy loop.

More commonly this (unrealistic) Construct is invalidated when the behaviour is Enacted leading to the Individual being Confront with Error and an ensuing Emotional response (ii).

Unable to update or improve their Renders of the Environment and unable to Sustain Co-operation there are left with characteristic outsized Emotional responses in order to try and resolve the Grid.

Typically either third parties are forced to capitulate or – unable to resolve the Grid – the Individual is forced to double down and exacerbate or re-iterate their behaviour until Bounce Back occurs (iii). Generally as this point the individual “Breaks the Game” to free themselves from the cycle; somehow Crossing the Rubicon in either intrapersonal relationships or integrity to property.
