The RoUCa grid is a framework to understand personality that is not based upon the lexical hypothesis.
Instead behaviour is taken to be a response to the environment that can be decomposed in several domains, both Globally (allocentrically) and Locally (egocentrically) in terms of Uncertainty and Capital.
Behaviour is selected upon the benefit it provides to the Individual.
The most beneficial response to the environment is termed U.
Enacting U may provide insight into an Individual’s behaviour where their interpretation of the environment is revealed.
A consistent response to the environment by an Individual allows inference about their personality to be drawn.
